Why is a 3D Printing Engineer important to us? You will become intimately familiar with the entire manufacturing process which will allow you to make sound judgments and provide critical feedback on products that can be made given varied material parameters. 3D Printing Engineers are problem solvers who are very production intensive and hands-on. They are an integral part of the supply chain and manufacturing part of our business.

As a 3D Printing Engineer you will….

Plan daily production runs for 3D printers
Identify, analyze and scope projects around improvements to the production line
Work with team to implement process changes to production line
Model and quantify impacts of improvements
Focus on uptime, with a goal to reduce equipment failure, identify root causes, create preventative maintenance best practices and improvements to equipment
Provide input for automation to enable scaling of the service
Clean and sort 3D printed parts and perform finishing processes (polishing, dyeing, air sand blasting etc.)
Manage customer expectations and ensuring all products are top quality and shipped on time
Provide feedback to our product team on material properties and design rules
Conduct daily manual checks of our customer’s 3D renderings to determine printability across various production technologies
Perform machine tasks related to daily production, including cleaning high tech machinery, homogenizing powder for print runs
Establish and maintain relationships with the printer manufacturer Service Technicians
Participate in factory upkeep (maintaining, cleaning and managing the repair of our large-scale 3D printers)
Flex between other roles on the manufacturing floor to create production efficiency

Requirements:
You might be a good fit if you…
Have a degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science or Fine Arts and / or demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through previous experience and education
Have 1-3 years of work experience in a world-class manufacturing environment
Understand KPI-driven performance and how to prioritize based on the demands of on-time delivery
Have knowledge in lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma principles practices a plus
Are able to work evenings, weekends and / or Holidays and be able to keep a flexible schedule during high volume production periods
Possess spatial awareness, are meticulous by nature and keep organized
Are mechanical-minded and able to understand the mechanics of an industrial 3D printer
Have a huge appetite to learn and develop in the manufacturing space
Possess confident verbal and writing (especially when electronic communication is the only available medium) communication skills
Love to drive change and continuous improvement by taking initiative and helping others
Want to be a team player – be flexible and willing to go with the (work) flow
Are always learning: believing that a job where you’re constantly learning is the best kind of job and you’re ok with asking for help
Crave being creative, resourceful, pro-active, and innovative
